I think almost all of us have opinions set in concrete and we are just wasting our time.

Most people in this catagory ask a question to either stir up something or make them feel good because they know most people will answer one way, their way. You find rare questions though where people actually want to learn something.

Lemme be sincere for just a second: I thank God or whoever's out there in the deity sense that I live in a country with free speech guaranteed and that I get to go on a forum like this. Sometimes, it's not a matter of changing people's minds--it's just a matter of making my point. People have been killed for less than what people do on this site everyday. People still get killed for religious persecution. So, for me, if I change somebody's opinion, fantastic. But I cherish the right to say my opinion more, and I intend to exercise my right to free speech in whatever way I can. Rights get stronger the more you use them, and free speech better stick around! Free speech ROCKS! That's the whole point, man.

I agree that most people "have their opinions set in concrete". But there are a lot of young people here. Some of are starting to ask questions and think for themselves for the first time. They might see something explained in a way that they had never heard before that might influence them to think & question more.

ROFLMAO
if I thought that I would answer all questions!
LOL
I try to give thought, to some I give a seed.
LOL
to your question, no 95% can not be reached, of the other 5%, .1% may have real hope. or 1 in 1000 that are on here, may have hope, 4.9% will think about it for 5 10 min that's about 49 people out of 1000
the other 950 people per 1000 have there mind made up and will (maybe) never change!

I speak only to that 50

Probably not. Except for the rare open minded one.
And opinions that are based on ones own thoughts and deliberations are NEVER set in concrete. They are constantly reevaluated based on new information.
And the conditioned reflexes of indoctrinated 'god worshipers' are NOT opinions and therefor unchangeable unless a total reconditioning takes place. Their rational minds are totally unaffected by new data, since they don't know what their beliefs were based on to start with.

I hope we are sharing ideas, not wasting time. If you look at what is going on here, most people are giving opinions and chatting with others with similar interests. I certainly hope we cannot change anyone's opinion about anything, but that we help each other broaden our horizons and maybe take a look at what we see from another point of view.

Actually, I believe there are some honestly seeking people here, with real questions. Those questions can be resolved, or at least can begin to be resolved, here. This place can also be used as a springboard for real friendships. It is the interactions between friends that really change lives.

So, in a way, yes. What we say here matters.

The Lord tells me to spread His word, which I do to the best of my ability. If I fail to spread the Word and someone dies unsaved, then his blood is on my head. If I put the Word out and he chooses to ignore it, then the blood is on his head. I sow the seed, and God gets the Harvest. That is why Faith without Works is useless. They go hand in hand. I find it an easy job, despite all the ridicule I get on this site, but if I can just reach just one person, then it has all been worth it.

I really like your question :-)

Indeed, it is funny to notice all those people convinced they can change others' religious opinions - lol.

I think they are a bit megalomaniac - or naive. They feel like launching a mind-bomb and then? A few dozens of reactions... and no change - lol.

There have been centuries that people try to change others' opinions about religions.

Anyway, I need others to "criticize" my opinions so that I get rid of my obsolete patterns. But I am the only one who can change myself.

Not necessarily. But there might be someon else out there who thinks the same way as the Jerks, & it is those who I hope will
listen. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind perse'. I only want
to share my beliefs. Hopefully, someone will check it out &
trust God for themselves. Opinions are like you-know-what, We
all have them. Mine is as good as the Jerks.
