Have had surgergy last year now have a hernia in the stomach area is this normal?

yes it can be if you did not wait out the max 6 week recovery period some times just getting outta bed can cause a hernia i know this because I had one hiatus's but it disappeared after i changed my diet so yes you can get a hernia

Hernias are common after abdominal surgery. Many people get whats called an incisional hernia where there is a hernia over the previous surgery site.

i had colon cancer surgery in 2004, my right ascending colon was removed and a re-section performed...I over did it before i should have and got a slight hernia in my abdomen...it went away on it's own thankfully. good luck to you
