What your body dosn't absorb turns to crap. Not everything you eat turns to crap. Good luck with the "diabetes," Waldo.

Why not use your computer to find some low-fat and low sugar recipes? Then practice making them yourself. There are also a lot of ways to make favorite recipes less damaging. For example, when making a cake, substitute the oil with applesauce or babyfood fruit, preferably unsweetened. If you really beat the bushes, you can even find sugarfree frosting mix. Or you can get fat free creamed cheese and beat it with some artificial sweetener, or some stevia, a natural sweetener, and your favorite flavorings.
When making eggs, use a nonstick skillet or use cooking spray instead of fat. Also, there is the option of making poached or coddled eggs, which don't use fat. Use egg beaters. Eat oatmeal for breakfast with Can't Believe It's Not Butter and sugarfree maple syrup. Throw in a few raisins for fiber. For lunch, it's easy to make a huge salad with some low fat turkey breast for protein and a veggie stir fry for supper. Skin your poultry and take all visible fat off your meat. Stay away from sugar and fat. Fat is just as bad for a diabetic as sugar, perhaps worse. My husband was a 450 pound undiagnosed diabetic when I met him. He is still diabetic, but has dropped 125 pounds and is still reducing. His chronic body odor has disappeared and so have two of his chins. He is still the sweet, gentle soul he was when I met him, only better, because he's healthier. I'll bet your wife wants you to be healthy, but doesn't know how to cook healthy food. Take her to the library and look up some diabetic cookbooks. There is no reason you can't both eat healthy. If she wants to spike in some fat and sugar to her portion, she can.
I wish you both the best. The thing to remember is that YOU are ultimately responsible for what goes into your body. If your arms aren't broken, learn to cook it yourself. You'll live longer, and presumably, the world will be a better place because of it.

No wonder your question appeared in the Mental Health section, you should be ashamed to write like that and criticize your wife in public.
