This thing has always confused me, and it is very common, you see people making promises... of loving each other, living together forever, staying by each other and crap like that ... what happens is that after a few months you will find them miles apart, broken up and with a new partner

so why do people do that ? why make promises which you cannot keep ?
are we not serious while making such promises and commitments ? do we just fake all of it ?

In my own experience if i feel i can't keep to my promise i won't say i will because i don't believe thats right to say something in which i don't believe. I just think that people onlly think short term.

I feel alot of times people are in love with the idea of love and then when they get into the middle of the everyday life...oops! It is reality and no longer a fairy tale we have created in our minds. You have a very good point of why make promises......why not say to someone that I will try or we will see what the future will hold? For some reason people don't expect for the new to wear off.....that is so unrealistic!!! They aren't able to move past that & move to the next.......which is accepting someone who isn't flawless (including ourelves) and realize what we decide to do with our everyday lives is up to us.....it just doesn't happen without some effort and commitment

in the beginning you say so many things, you have fantasies and illusions, its up to you to make a difference, we all want so many things but can have them the way we want them, in the beginning you dont know each other to well, so many people say i love u and dont really mean it or just say it to say it, there are too many people especially guys that say whatever to just have sex with you, many of us dont compromise in the relationship, those people that make promises shouldnt be making promises and the other person shouldnt be falling for it, in the beginning you u start with a belief, like with a fairy tale, but in the real world there is no place, you always have problems and never end, you have new ones all the time, many people dont try their best or dont even try to accomplish their promises and commitments, there are many girls that are never satisfied or happy, they live live in a world of social competition, it takes two or more for promises to occur and commitments to continue in a relationship

People are people and yes, many thing sthat are spoken byt hem are nothing but lies, i.e., they tell you what they think you want to hear, usually in order to garner something from you. Often, they think that by telling you someting good (even when they don't mean it), you will feel goood and it will flatter you. The problem is that when you find out they did not mean what they said, you will be just plain angry. People are constantly telling tales and it gets to be a bad habit with some of them.

in the beginning of a relationship... these promises for some people are truly sincere, for others it's a way to get laid. I don't think people intentionally make promises that they can't keep, they just have a change of heart and the promise is compromised by that change of heart.

promises are made to be broken. everybody lives for the moment not really thinking about the words we say. that's why i always say be careful with your words because once they've been said you cant take them back. but in the future when people say word's like forever and always just think what the words mean like forever means to the end of time. is that real????learn to say what you mean and mean what you say

Talk is cheap. Some people will say anything for a piece of tail.

They say it because that's how they feel at the moment, or they just say it to make you feel secure. Love is complicated.
