Do you think Manhattan is worth the very expensive cost of living, why or why not?

First of way there are affordable ways to live here, it's just that you have to be willing to make some sacrifices like not having a car, living in a small apartment and so forth. Anyway, I think it's worth it because I don't value my privacy or space as much as I do being surrounded by diverse people with different ideas and tons of cultural, academic, artistic, literary, and musical events.

Most people in Manhattan has to trade down on space. Are you willing to live in half the space, just to be in the City?

If you are young, single and work in Manhattan, you may treasure the fact that you can go out every night. However, if you have a large family and a limited income, a Manhattan apartment will be way too squeezed for you.

For most people it's more a question of whether you can afford it than whether it's worth it.

it depends on what you're looking for and what type of person you are. if you are a cutting edge, modern person who loves excitement and you want to be in the midst of a fast paced world, then manhattan is defienetely worth the cost of living. some things to consider are that you'll have some of the BEST ofeverything including museums, restaraunts, libraries, fashion, entertainment, jobs, diversity of people, you name it, manhattan's got it. but it isn't for everyone and not everyone should be made to feel like manhattan is the only "it" place. some people prefer things like quieter living, a nice yard, not such a crowded environment, perhaps more "laid back" people. you really have to think about what type of person you are. i

i do i go there every day with friends and want to move there one day.it has everything you want and the beautful scenery and the amazing people. plus its the style capital and is soo much fun. you will need a good job though.
