Why do you ask? Are there hard-hearted Christians? Certainly. I have met the sweet and the sour along that way. Are there hard-hearted agnostics? Not sure. (Hey, that was a joke!)
I think that having one's heart open is not a question of religion but more of a question of being properly socialized. The sociopath does not connect with anyone outside himself. That is as hard-hearted as they come.
Recently there was an attempt to see if there was a question you could ask to see if someone was a Neo-con or a Progressive. Just one question. Here is what they came up with:
It is late at night and your baby is crying. Do you go pick him up?
Neo-cons said No. Progressives said Yes. Now, what do we make of that difference?

Definitely the Christian.....Yesterday, I was looking at one Yahoo Q&A question to Atheists, and he said, "what if you died and found out that Christ was real and was the gatekeeper to heaven?" I was pleased to see how humble and humerous the answers were.
Then, the same Yahoo user posted a question to the Christians and said, "what if you died and found out that Buddha, or Mohamed was the gatekeeper to heaven?" As I expected, many of the answers were haughty and mean.
I am generalizing here, so maybe my heart is harder than anyone elses....

The Christians'. It's pretty clear around here that they're an arrogant, heartless bunch for the most part (though there are some wonderful exceptions).

I don't think Christian's are hard-hearted, they're just so focused on their religion that they don't realize how much hurt they can cause someone.
