My husband and I were "just friends" for 17 years before we married -- so I know a little bit about this!

If this friend of yours is as good a friend as you say he is, then why not just ask him to do something with you -- then, while you are together, you can try to talk to him about your feelings. OR -- do what my husband did to me and just KISS HIM!

I was really confused for a little while, because I was afraid that if it didn't work out, I would lose him as a friend. But it made me re-evaluate my feelings, and obviously, I realized that I was also in love with him.

When we finally got together, all of our friends were saying "It's about time!" Ha!

Don't wait 17 years -- go for it! A relationship that starts as a friendship can withstand almost anything!

If you've been friends for two years, then obviously you two know know each other. If your feeling this way, most likely he is too. The best way to approach this is (assuming you guys hang out all the time; go to the mall, movies, dinner etc. like friends do) next time you are together, just spit it out. "Hey (his name), do you want to hear something crazy? Lately I've been day dreaming about you and I dating. It's weird, we've been friends so long. Do you think I'm a dork?" Then this way if he feels like you're sweet. If he doesn't, your pride is still in tact and there is no harm to the friendship.

First find out if he is interested. Ask him what type of woman he likes or is attracted too. And if you fit the description you can make your move. Maybe joke with him about it and say "hey that's me" and see what his reaction is. If he says something positive then you can push through with asking him out. But if he says cuz "were just friends" then tell him that you totally agree before he gets any ideas that you want him as more then friends.

After you ask him out, discuss what will happen if it doesn't work out. If you know that you two cannot be buds if you break up, don't date. Your friendship is probably more important than being a couple.

hello, you know, why shouldn't we try to go out together instead of being just friends?
