Simple answer, the loophole being used by illegal immigrants to have children in America become citizens needs to be closed. This amendment is outdated and is being abused. The child of 2 people illegally in our country should NOT be considered an American citizen.
As for the 3.1 million, they can stay with their parents and return to their homeland. Their parents are the criminals here, they are the ones putting their children in a bad situation, not the government. Your perception is skewed.

The answer's pretty simple, Pancha, send the kids home with the parents. If the kid was born here, let them choose at age 18 or whatever if they want to apply to become bona-fide US citizens. But, the 'anchor baby' thing has to stop. Why not make 1 January, 2007, the first day of 'new policy' on anchor babies?
Any way you stack the cards, illegal immigration needs to be stopped. I noticed that YOU had no suggestion as to what should happen with the kids...I think families should stay together, but if the parents are from Mexico, the kid should get Mexican citizenship, plain and simple.
Immigration's been used, misused, and abused, and our laws are deliberately being flaunted, Pancha. What do YOU feel should be done?

The government has been taking care of children who have no parents or whose parents abandoned them or whose parents do not work or whose parents are young and irresponsible. That is what the government calls the Welfare System. And every year, more beneficiaries are added to the system. That should include all the offsprings of the illegal aliens who were born here and therefore, are American citizens by birth. That is the lesser of two evils, the other evil being that of allowing their illegal parents to continue staying in our country.

Simply the parents should go to jail for the crimes they committed and there childrend should go into foster care and fostered out to parents that take responsibilty for what they do......Then after they have spent time in jail they should then be deported back, but they will slide back in again anyway, thankfully it costs alot for the to underground back here

Personally if the parents are illegal then the kids should NOT be considered American citizens. (my opinion)
And if the parents are here illegally and are getting deported they should have to take their kids with them. Not my fault they came here illegally, no one told them to have those kids.

I'm not sure of your numbers, but I agree with your point. Readers that want to have these children (who are American citizens) deported with their parents remind me of Nazis. Remember how one could only become a member of the Nazi party if they could prove "pure" Aryan ancestry? That's what these morons remind me of, they only want citizenship for "pure Americans".
According to their logic a child should be stripped of their American citizenship if their parents are "criminals"? Ok, then let's find the children of the 3 million persons who are currently in U.S. prisons and strip those kids of their U.S. citizenship.
