can anyone give me examples and/or direct quotes from any christian that has been allegedly forcing christianity down their throat and/or have been harassing them to change their way of life because a lot of people here say that's what they do but it sounds like they're lying or using that as an excuse for something. If that were to happen it would probably be from a person who is corrupt and uses the title christian falsely. If anything they are merely following one of Jesus's commandments to preach to the world the good news to save people, and if they dont it's a form of selfishness if they keep it to themselves which is very bad and could be subject to punishment.
I just want proof of these claims( without someone avoiding the question and focusing on something else i just said).

I understand where you are coming from. People can write anti Christian, anti government, pro government, opinionsin newspaper editorials, there are numerous talk shows that go on and on about the hosts or guests opinions and ideas about the world, I see books and pamphlets all over with people's opinions plastered all over it. There is a guy in our neighborhood who stands on street corners with his anti Bush signs- I don't agree with most of these things I see and hear but these people have every right to express their opinions and beliefs and I am certainly not offended nor do I think they are shoving anything down my throat- I hear it and either accept it or move on.
Give me a break people, I still don't see how anyone thinks that Christians are shoving anything down anyone's throat- Christians have just as much right to express and share their thoughts, opinions and beliefs. Grow up, accept it or move on- I mean really WHAT are those that are claiming this afraid of??
So far I have never heard of a Christian putting a gun to someones head and forcing them to listen to the gospel, imprisoning them, holding them down, etc. Give me a break, our ways of sharing are no different than anyone else's ways of sharing and expressing. Thoise that get offended by someone else expressing their beliefs need to grow up and get over it .

Any time a Christian shares their faith to people who do not believe the same thing they are often accused of shoving their faith down others throats. What I find interesting is if you look at questions on here based on that definition of shoving a faith down someone's throat, all are guilty no matter what you believe. Atheists are just as bad as they present their knowledge as being truth and all Christians are brainwased, weak people needing the cruch of religion. Now I know there are some on here who will claim they don't do that, but this isn't a personal statement this is a general all encompassing statement, and if individual Christians can't escape such generalizations then neither can individual atheists. I will admit that I have seen Christians or people with religion on here being just as rude as atheists have been so by observation I am thinking the ability to stick to your faith and be crass about it is not determined by your belief or lack their of.

Yes, it does happen, and it's a shame if it's done in a harassing way because that only drives people away from salvation in Christ.
On the other hand, some people consider even a polite, respectful Christian who mentions the gospel to be "shoving religion down my throat." These people, I think, are just compulsive whiners; if they weren't whining about Christians they'd find something else to whine about. Their lives must be very sad.
We should be careful and attentive in order to obey Jesus and share the gospel with others, without putting them off by being (or appearing) offensive and judgmental. Remember, all we have to do is tell them--God will see to it that the seed we planted sprouts and grows, if that's His will.
Good question. Blessings to you!

If a christian was pushing christianity down someones throat they are a hypocrite trying for everyone to notice them. A christian can say they are a Christian and yet not be one....i guess a good saying here is actions speak louder than words! I have been to some churches that keep saying..."let God take away your sins! Let him...let him!!!!" as if they were some zombies or something! I agree with you writer!!! And I must say that hypocrites just get on my nerve!!!!

Some so-called Christians are, yes...I've had people tell me that I'm going to hell for not believing and other things like that. However, I would like to add that the majority of Christians do not try to force others to believe what they do, but there are a minority who feel that they should convert others by force. There's a difference between sharing one's faith and shoving it down someone's throat. Christians should not feel compelled to hide their religious beliefs (unfortunately there are some atheists who also feel the need to shove their beliefs down others' throats, thus impinging on the right to believe what one wishes), but neither should they flaunt it needlessly. I'm an atheist/Buddhist, and one of my best friends in college was a very strong Christian, but she still respected me for who I was, and in turn I respected her for who she was. We basically agreed to disagree, and as a result, we have a wonderful friendship.

Another example is the whole debate on gay marriage. I firmly believe that two adults who love each other should be allowed to get married, but some (again, not all) Christians don't think that they should have the right to marry because they are supposedly evil. If you are a Christian who believes that being gay is wrong, you certainly have a right to your opinion, and you should act accordingly (ie, not be gay). However, that doesn't give you the right to tell others how to live their lives. Gay people who marry are not infringing upon the rights of others, therefore there's no harm in allowing them to do so. (In other words, I think people should be allowed to do what they want, provided they are not hurting others. Someone who believes that it is morally okay to murder people does NOT have the right to do so, because that infringes on others' right to life.)

I hope that answers your question.

Witnessing about one's faith is a cornerstone of ALL faiths.

It is human failing which corrupts or attempts to use as a weapon the tenets of faith.

American examples of TV preachers(not all) where the pursuit of money, devotion to money, etc. supplants their own professed beliefs...

American Jehovah Witnesses or Baptists that come to your door do not force their way into a home. Or curse you from the curb.
But notice the action of some 'Christians who firebomb or shout obscenities at abortion clinics. Or 'Islamic fascists' who bomb airplanes. That is a human failing to pervert the teachings of faith into something God recognizes, but a practice which most would agree is condemned by God.

We are surrounded by bad examples. Faith is what allows the faithful to continue in this unGodly environment.

(Also see politicians and moneychangers- in other words any current form of government or economics)

I find it spectacularly rude that anyone would attempt to convert anyone else to their faith. It's basically a way of saying "You made an incorrect choice when you picked your beliefs, now I'm here to set you straight." Unforgivable arrogance.

As an example of Christians shoving their views down other's throats, we need look no farther than the "stem-cell" debate. Because some Christians feel it is immoral to use stem cells, they would deny the research and all of its benefits to everyone. If THAT isn't forcing etc., what is?

There are numerous other examples that come readily to mind.

It is our job as a christian to spread the gospel and to lead everyone to Jesus Christ if they aren't saved. But if we are to preach and talk to people about God we have to actually believe and do what we are telling other people. Like walk the walk and talk the talk, at the same time. Yeah if we don't take the opportunity to talk to someone about Jesus and they are lost and they die, their blood will be on us and we will be in trouble. Some people do force their beliefs on others but do they walk the walk and talk the talk? Not all of them, but most, and we do try to live Godly lives but we make mistakes, just because we are christians doesn't mean that we have to be perfect, we should try but still, we aren't even close to being perfect, Jesus Christ is perfect, God is perfect. If christians are being hypocritical about what they are supposed to do, God will deal with them. But not all christians are hypocrits. We are like messengers, and we should spread the good news to all willing to hear, and if they refuse then it's the other person's problem if they aren't willing to change or understand.....us christians move on to another person, and another opportunity....if that person accepts the gospel and accepts Jesus Christ, then God Bless them and that is terrific but the Glory does not go to the person leading the person to Christ, it goes directly to God. I hope I explained everything, and answered your question.....I have been a christian for about two years, and I am still trying my best to do my job here on earth.

In general no I don't think they do. However here is one example of it.
Using religion as a reason to not allow same sex marriage. I am not Christian and the fact that religion is the reason for not allowing this is in a way shoving their religion down my throat.

the clarification different religions do no longer carry forth is by using the fact in maximum religions it rather is not any longer allowed. To Umar B, Muslims are no longer allowed to transform human beings, they gained't shove their faith down your throat, you're thinking of the overzealous media reporting via Christians that Muslims try to take over the international. there may be some terrorist movies shown yet you will on no account get any Muslim handing you a leaflet on a highway nook. the clarification Christians pass around attempting to transform human beings is by using the fact Christianity is going down the pan, it has the utmost ranges of congregation decline out of all religions. faith in basic terms does not slot in with hedonistic values interior the west (i.e the yankee dream, the main unchristian fee interior the international). in case you get jehovah's witnesses in basic terms stick a blood doning sticky label on your window, they on no account call lower back. If it rather is others in basic terms tell them you're gay (may cause them to attempt greater sturdy in spite of the undeniable fact that)!
