Are they expecting to evoke some kind of emotional response from us? I think these people should start worrying about what they are doing here, if more did that, heaven would take care of itself.

The concept of the "Judgement Day" as preceived by most dogma was a fear addition...and incorrect in our true reality...

Facts are, "heaven" does take care of itself...as well as everyone here doing a lifetime...and the only judgements placed on our lifetimes is by our own accord--we have the opportunity, while Home, to critique each life so that we can plan our next journey wiser & more productively positive, or decide whether we wish to come back for such or not...no other purpose.

And, yes, it would make sense that if we focussed more on our own actions here--our own spirit purposes, that we would have little time or care for such events.

Judgement Day is coming, everyone will give an account. How you respond to that doesn't matter to me, my responsibility is to make you aware of the fact, after that it is entirely up to you. Are you aware that you will give an account of your every word and action? Heaven will take care of itself, don't worry about that.

Because they fear death, and no one wants to die alone. It's also pure ego, like they are going to get bonus points with Jesus if they happen to be "living in the End Times." It's ultimately a desperate attempt at the ultimate validation of their beliefs. Until the supposed judgment day, their beliefs are just opinions.

God uses different people in multitudes of different ways to draw others close to Him. That is why we have so many denominations and so many interpretations of the Bible. Some people may very well respond to the concept of an imminent judgement day and turn their lives over to Jesus. Others may respond to the concept of a forgiving God who loves them in spite of their sin. Still others may respond to a rational God who has a specific organized plan for their lives. God meets his people at their point of need. It is folly to question other's reasons or motivation for their faith or lack thereof. We are all on our own spiritual journey and let us just pray that each of us will draw closer to God, discover His will for our lives, share what he has done for us, exercise our gifts and keep growing in the fruits of His spirit. I would also like to share a book with you that I read recently that may go along with your research. It is a book interpreting Bible prophecy in a light that I have not seen any of the mainstream churches purporting. It seems to be pretty well researched, written by a gentleman who is now 78. It gives some chronological proofs of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation that are very interesting. The name of the book is "The False Prophet" by Ellis Skolfield. It can be read online in a couple of hours. My husband and myself are basically both pacifists and we too share your alarm at warmongering under the banner of Christian duty. We are members at a Southern Baptist Church because we know that God wants us to assemble with fellow believers and fortunately the pastor there is a strong believer of separation of church and state. The people there, for the most part are on a different page then we are politically but we see it as a way to demonstrate to fellow believers that it is not about politics, but about relationship with Jesus and our fellow man and accepting each others differences and supporting one another in Christian love. Bless you in your quest for knowledge and spiritual enlightenment.

Amen to that, if anyone has read the Bible, no one but God knows......There are things that haven't happened it....some prophecies have been fulfilled but there are still more to be fulfilled. We should just try to live our lives the best we can, try to do good as much as we can.......while we still have time. This is a good time to accept Jesus as your savior too, before it's too late.

the question should be, Where are you spending eternity? Heaven or hell and on judgment day you will be judged to where you will spent it. Very important question for every individual.
I kNOW where I'm going, do you?

Completely agree......People think that we are going to trash this planet and then move the party onto paradise were we will all just magically get along.

The fact that you're asking this question means they accomplished their mission. Otherwise, you wouldn't care at all.... not even enough to ask this.
