Im not sure but I am sure I've seen it. It looks kinda like a mosquito(sorry not sure how to spell it) they fly around my screen door at dusk every night. And they are quite large.

scorpion I was thinking but they do not fly. I beleive you are talking about dragon flies . they are reported as The insects that appear to be of a very light blue body,
about 3 or 4 cm in length, with two sets of black wings, maybe 6-8 cm. =
across. The behavior was darting and quick like a dragonfly.

Bumblebee, wasp... there are tons of bugs in Florida. Good luck identifying it.

i would say a wasp there are some pretty big ones down here
