are u sure the file is 700mb and not 7gb, since if the file is 7gb u would need to use a program like dvdshrink which will rip the dvd apart so it can fit onto a 4.7gb disk.

Are you sure about the size of your file? A 700Mb movie would be very, very short.

I think either
1) It IS 7Gb not 700Mb or
2) You're putting a CD into the drive instead of a DVD.

The vast majority of movies come on DVD-9, which will usually take about 7.95Gb of data. You can buy blank DVD-9s, but they're expensive compared to the DVD-5s which most people buy, which will take about 4.3Gb. So, if you have a copy of a movie and you want to put it on DVD-5, you'll need to compress it. For that, you'll need something like DVD Shrink, or CloneDVD.

I've tried the same thing with the same results, I think it has something to do with the copyright data to prevent pirating.
I've been told that you can download software for free that will allow dvd burning or copying.
