Sometimes when I shower, I get extremely lightheaded and can't stand, so I have to sit and take a bath instead (when it happens, it happens in the morning, but I am fully awake, not groggy). What do you think is wrong, and what can I do to help it not happen again?

I am not a doctor. But I think you might have a heart condition. If I were you, I would check it with a cardiologist. You see, when you shower or take a bath, the room fills up with a steam from the hot water. And this steam goes up the ceiling and collects there. So when you're standing up while taking a shower, you are more exposed to that steam. If you have a heart condition, it will make you feel dizzy and lightheaded. And when you sit and take a bath instead, it makes you less exposed to the steam and therefore feel better. I think you need to see a cardiologist.

I get the same way. I start to feel weak. Eat something before showering or when you get light headed while in the shower.. come out and drink some orange juice or eat something light. Works for me.

SB is right too. I have low blood sugar so that's my reason.

Possibly low blood pressure. I was on a blood pressure medication for awhile and the dosage was too big. I would go in the shower and feel the same symptoms you describe. Try getting your blood pressure checked.

It sounds like your blood sugar level is low, does diabetes or hypoglysemic run in your family? I have that happen to me in the shower too and have to get out and lay on cold tile and drinklots of sweet tea.
