My husband and I are going to be married 5 years this year and want to take a small trip within the US. Are there any places that might be heated because of this immigration media frenzy that we should avoid? We have already been to Chicago, and might go back, but I would like your suggestions on someplace new.

Um well I live in NY and its obviously a big city with lots to do and the immigration 'media frenzy' is not as bad as the rest of the cities in other parts of the country. Most big cities in the Northeast are not heated. Boston is beautiful, especially this time of year and in September I would recommend there or NYC.

Mendin8a, if you're both legal residents of the country, it's not a problem for you to go anywhere you want. But, I think that for people residing illegally in our country, the water's gonna get hotter nationwide. I don't think 'frenzy' is a good descriptive term, it implies irrational mob-like mentality and that's not the case here, as far as I can tell, mobs do stupid things and that's not the objective here. What'd really be cool is if some of all this energy somehow transferred itself to Mexico in the form of citizen volunteerism there, and people really rolled up their sleeves to make a real go of the place. That's what it needs, and to my view, that's what should happen. America's strapped for money, but I'm sure that if we saw enough people rolling on home, there'd probably be a slew of good-faith donations to help things along....wouldn't YOU donate to see Mexico finally stand up and be successful?

I have not heard of any one attacking a illigale immigrant ... Us Americans don't hate them, we just want them to go back to their country. To make a statement like that, is hinting to the possibility that you are looking for racsimwhere it does not happen to exist.

I think the Oregon coast is pretty. I don't know what states you would want to avoid. It seems like it's mainly dependent on individuals as to what is going on with immigration stuff.

Maybe you should stay home. Racism only exists in some minds. I think those who talk about it all the time in questions.

Are there places where people start attacking others on the street or something?
In LA people wouldn't even notice you, but Yosemite is prettier.
