First year anniversary is "Paper"...
I suggest something on paper then.... It can be anything you like.
Some have gone the route of an airline ticket to hawaii.... which is on paper... while others have gone with an issue of their favorite magazine, or newspaper, or anything like that... just as long as it is on paper.

I don't know how old you are,but maybe if you did something special for him like when you fell in love with him.Special place you may have went,something spacial that you did then that you don't do now.
