I know the size is different. Is there a difference in profarmance.

Assuming the the cameras have the same (Megapixals, zoom, and have the same features what is the difference in picture quality?

Is there a difference in lenses, as far as quality?.

Can you get as much in your picture with a small camera as a large?

With small models you get 3x or 5x zoom, tops. With bigger ones you get up to 12x zoom, where the wide end is the same but you can zoom in much, much more. The larger models are generally also equipped with better lenses, which translates into better looking prints. Other features can be identical. (Larger models often have a lot of bells and whistles, but so do many compact cameras.)
Digital SLR cameras are the best in terms of lenses (sold separately), and they offer much better responsiveness, better low light performance, and a bunch of other advantages.

The pocket digital cameras have a digital sensor about 1/4 (yes one quarter) the size of a digital SLR (full sized camera) sensor. This means the SLRs will have much better picture quality and have numerous lenses available to use.

FULL SIZE CAMERAS HAVE BETTER ZOOM AND MORE OPTIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY. WHERE POCKET SIZE ARE JUST PRETTIER AND EASIER TO CARRY.
