Well, the US population is how many million? If two people a day here 'get it' (which is probably a high estimate, LOL), well, you do the math...

Tripforyou - The whatever-poos and the whatever oodles will NEVER be a breed because they are STILL not even trying to get past an F1 breeding. They cannot become a breed when they never move past the whatever X Poodle, they have no standard and do not work toward consistency. If you want to read about a REAL breed in the making, do some reading on the Silken Windhund, THERE is a breed in the making. They went past an F1 breeding a long time ago and have a standard. The poo/oodle people haven't even begun to develop a breed. It's people like you intentionally spreading mis-information that is the problem.

I agree with most of it. I am sick of people thinking that every new "fad" mix is a breed and should then be bred. I am sick of people asking the most simple of dog husbandry questions too. The information is so easy to find. If people cannot even do their own web search, then they look even stupider asking a simple question here.
People will still believe that their Malt-a-shih-a-pom-a-poo is an actual breed and that is does not shed. They will still ask how often they come into heat (like all breeds are different) they will still ask how many puppies they will have (again, like we can actually predict the future). They really think that they will get the answer they want and then they can do what they wanted to do all along because some idiot justified it for them!!!!!!
The facts will never get across to these people!!!!!!!!!!!

And for the dope that thinks AKC acceptance of these "mutt-a-poos" is just on the horizon......lets look at the Cock-a-poo. Still a mutt, been around for a LONG time. No closer to being AKC registrable!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do however disagree with the bathing thing. I have Newfies. Most of them are bathed weekly either for showing or because of swimming. The handler bathes them weekly when he has them.
You may have terriers and they are not bathed as often, but many breeds, especially heavily coated breeds, are bathed frequently.
There are also medical reasons a vet may prescribe weekly baths for a long period of time. For most breeds, a weekly bath is not a bad thing.

And for that Jim guy....It is SAD that you claim to have 10 Champion Bulldogs that live with a trainer and have no life. What would be the reason for that?????? What the heck kind of "trainer" would English Bulldogs be living with????????? I amy send my dog with a handler for showing, but they do not live there having no life!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually it's not the ignorant people who are the problem... it's people like you who are only here to attack and abuse others. It is perfectly fine to bathe a dog once a month... Dogs actually do incredibly well on raw food diets, and when compared to the average grocery store sold dog food switching them to a raw diet can cure a number of maladies. Saying anything 'a-poo' isn't a breed is just ridiculous... they are working on producing good pets with less genetic health problems than many of the current purebreds... they need work and they need to find a uniform form and function, but some of them will become AKC recognized breeds in the near future (50 years or less) do you know how the current breeds were formed? Here's a hint... 60% of them DID NOT EXIST until AFTER 1900. Did you know breeds have been accepted into the AKC as recently as 2001? And several are working on admission as we speak. There are also a large amount of breeds not listed in the AKC for the simple reason that they are not common in America. This doesn't make them not purebred, or does it in your simple mind? The 'teacup' is a definition of size... the AKC not recognizing the term does not in any way make it in valid. Further, an AKC registration does not mean your dog is purebred... large numbers of backyard breeders can't verify who the sire was and some lie knowing the pups are not pure. The AKC site is not the ONLY place to find corrent *&* complete information... infact, it is not even A place for complete information... the individual national breed club pages are much better suited for this purpose and the AKC site links to them. The information on the AKC main site is in NO way complete for ANY Breed.

It's people like you intentionally spreading mis-information that is the problem.

I think you are a Twit and missing the point of this site.. it is for answers for us that do not know and if you check your facts more pets are sold today than SHOW QUALITY animals so why not step down and relize that you might be the twit and answer peoples question that you have knowledge about ...

and b.t.w how many champions do you own ...

I actually have 10 champion english bulls that live with a trainer and have no life the pet that my family loves is a MUTT in your terms but I would put more into her than the $1,000's we put into the the others ever month.

I would rather have the people come here and ask the questions even if you have answered them thousands of times, then to have a dog go without, or get hurt, or die, because the person didn't know.

Are you this big of an asswipe in your daily life or do you just simply save it for us?

Either way, make no mistake about it, you are an *** and I wouldn't care if you were a vet, had raised and bred dogs for 50 yrs., or you owned the AKC, I still wouldn't take your advice!!!!!!!

In fact I have seen quite a few people disputing the advice that you give. You aren't as dog savvy as you claim to be. MOst of the time you don't even give advice, you just rant and rave and act like a pouty little smart mouth teenager. And by the way, REPORTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all about education now isn't it? As you may already know, some learn quickly, others are slower.

Consider yourself fortunate that you are knowledgeable enough to help those that aren't.

Besides, 2 points is 2 points!

I have to agree, but also I am glad that they are at least asking the questions and trying to learn...
