My mum used to make the best banana sandwiches. She'd only make them if I was feeling blue, Whenever I go to visit her now she makes them for me.

My Mum did so many things, it's hard to thing of the best, like when she spent ages knitting new clothes for my barbie, becuase we lived in Africa and you couldn't buy any. And when I was sick she always made me homemade Lentil soup, even though I was the only one who liked it. When I was sick in her bed on Christmas day night after eating too much chocolate and tangerines, not a pretty sight! She never told me off and just cleaned it up, even though she'd warned me I would be sick if ate too much.
And like your Mum she still makes me Lentil soup, even though I have kids of my own. Aren't Mum's great!

Read bedtime stories and sing us to sleep. Sometimes she'd be so tired, she'd fall asleep singing standing up with her arms folded on the top bunk. When she buttered my toast, she'd make sure the butter went all the way to the edges.

The little things were the best things my mum did for me. ie: buying just me a ice cream. Taking me to the park. Spending time with me. Giving me advice when I was older.

I didn't realize this until I was grown. I had the flu and was home from work tending to my own ills and wished my mom was there to lay her cool hand on my hot forhead..... and tell me if I hadn't been out playing in the rain I wouldn't be suffering now!! Oh mom.

When there was a power cut she let me & my sister sleep downstairs! We used to get lots of blankets & some candels & mum would make us soup!

Our house was cold but we had a gas fire heater in the bathroom. On school days, she placed my clothes on the heater to make them warm before I got dressed in the morning.

The best thing she did was left my dad. He was an acoholic and would beat her. I was 9 at the time.
