ALRIGHT!!! Here's the solution to the neverending,age-old problem of the toilet seat.
Both parties need to assume that it is NOT in the ritght position for you.
Girls-when you go to the bathroom (even in the middle of the night) assume it is up and put it down.
Guys- when you go to pee, assume it is down and put it up.
PROBLEM SOLVED!

I had a question for THE LADIES a while back that was: toilet seat up or down. Got some pretty strong opinions too (lol)! My view is:
With 3 son's and a husband I don't care if you leave it up or down but if I sit in pee I will hunt you down and kill you!!! SO, If you have good aim feel free to pee with the seat down. If you might "miss" put it up or you will be sorry! And believe me I can be very creative!

Well, the toilet seat was designed to be down. I suppose that is why women like to have the toilet seat down.

This one is easy: it's a control thing. It has NOTHING to do with courtesy or accidently falling in the bowl -- think about, have you ever seen a woman piss on the top cover? No. If they are too stupid or too lazy to sit down without checking if the seat is up they deserve to drop in. It is just as easy to put the seat DOWN as it is to lift it up. So shut-up you harpees.

Yeah, I don't get it. Are they too helpless to do it themselves? I mean if it's down and I have to pee, I lift it up. If it's up and I have to 'sit down', (sorry so crass,) I put the seat down. And If I have to do either, I always check to status of the seat before I use the toilet. How hard is that?!
PS, I always put the seat down, (but I never assume it's down.) I guess I have been trained.

Because they fall in the toilet when the seat is not down?
Because it feels very unpleasent to sit without the seat down?

Did you ever sit down on a porcelain rim? Especially at night, when you don't want to disturb anyone by turning on the light? And a guy has used the toilet before you? And the rim is wet? Ungggggh!

the seat hides the urine that guys seem to not want to clean off the toilet. since they cannot clean after themselves, you would think it easy for them to lower the seat. well i guess it would be nicer if they would learn to wipe their own stuff off the toilet, that would be great. but lets be practical unless we remove the seat altogether and never use them again, a man will not get the picture of setting on a cold piece of porcelain in the middle of the night. cold and wet with who knows what on it. ewwwwwwwwww

You try sitting down on a toliet when the seat is up. Not pleasant at all, especially in the middle of the night when you are half asleep.
