I have given a lot of chemotherapy and I treat cancer pts on a regular basis. Usually, you dont skip treatments unless your Oncologist defers them because of very low blood counts or maybe the pt could be sick and febrile.
All chemotherapy for cancer does not cause hair loss, but most of them do. They also cause sun sensitivity and people usually do not want to drink after chemotherapy unless they are a long term alcoholic. Even alcoholics tell me they havent had a drink since they started chemo for the first time in like 20 years.
Also, it would be highly unusual to make an appointment for a specialist at an institute because physicians like to have their weekends to themselves.
I think your friend is telling you stories and it aggrivates me because there are legitimate cancer pts out there who are suffering greatly and wish they could get some attention on a weekend, enjoy drinking and lay out in the sun.

As an RN and also having had Chemotherapy, you need to know what type of chemo they are receiving some really don't make your hair fall out but some of the things you are saying makes me feel that your friend may be deceptive. I could eat and drink not much without vomiting and within a week or so could go out. You need to find the type out and also the length of time between treatments before you make assumptions. Good Luck!

I was told not to drink. My onocoligist said one glass of red wine every once in a while would be okay. I had my lymph nodes out though. Your lymph system is not working in that area. At least not to its full potential. I am not taking any chances I do not want to wake up with the "BIG ARM" Guess it depends on what kind of cancer and what your treatment is.
