As far as I know, I think its the best in terms of file sharing. You can get almost anything you're looking for - music, movies, programs etc - on limewire. I've had it for a sometime now and no regrets. You should however be careful as it is possible for some creep to try to spread viruses thru limewire. This has happened to me before but my protection was quick to detect and remove it.

Limewire is very good for getting music but watch out for viruses on limewire there are many when you wanna get a song look at the file size first if its in bytes for sure its a virus.

I had it but uninstalled it because of viruses.Be ok as long as you have good AntiVirus programs which monitor incoming files. ETrust AntiVirus is a very good one I have this installed and use a simmilar filesharing program called Bearshare which is very good and fast but if an infected file is downloaded it lets you know so you can cure or better still delete it! Once u have installed limewire or Bearshare, run an Antispy check for Adware and remove any found. Good look-Enjoy!

the computers i have seen in the last week were the users have been downloading files from limewire,and all have complained of their p.c,s running slow and sluggish,so i ran spybot through it and all p.c,s had over 100 spyware entries with one clocking up over 400,and all this is due to file sharing,or you should call it "virus sharing"
the actual idea of limewire is good,but the problem is that their is no policeing of the site,i mean there should be some kind of virus and spyware scaning as files pass from each user,but to be honest in my experience the kind of user who uses limewire is the kind of user who dosent really care about online security
so like i said,limewire is good but to use it follow these recommendations
1)use a decent firewall(i.e zonealarm)
2)scan all files you download before you execute them
3)if you can use a good anti-virus scanner,avast 4.7 is ideal for filesharing as it has a p2p scanner which is unique to this free scanner(http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html)
4)have good anti-spyware protection...spybot(http://www.safer-networking.org/) and spyware blaster(http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html)
if you follow these tips you should be able to use limewire quite safely,but always keep alert to dodgy files,and remember to update your security programs to protect you from the latest threats

limewire is fine as long as you have anti-virus and good security(Norton) configured properly.Been using Limewire for 2 years now with Norton and it's kept all virus's etc out so on that note Happy Hunting my Friend

Lime Wire is open source, it is good (but has somekind of a shareware thing). But there are other programms running with the Lime Wire engine, totally free and also open source and as good as limewire...

I've used it to download several bits of music, I've not had anything uploaded, and I only keep it running if I'm using it.

I've found several tracks I've not found on CD

I've not had any problems
