You are not the first to be caught in this situation. Talk to your friend first and find out his/her opinion about it. Then talk to mom and dad and find out how it will affect everyone should they become serious. Is your best friend a girl or guy? If its a girl and you two truly are bf then wouldn't it be great to have a new sister. If your friend is a guy and you to have and attraction to each other and parents involvement if serious for 'family' in the future, could cause 'scandal' then find out how the four of you are going to mesh. Technically there is no blood relation and you both are entitled to date. If the parents are happy and it isn't causing problems between you and your friend, don't be selfish consider everyone involved and I'm sure things will work out for the best, they always do.

Sounds pretty cool. I bet you are imagining your best friend becoming your step sister as we speak. If they marry, you don't just become better friends, you become sisters and that's even better. Sisters can fight, argue, and bicker, but at the end of the day they are still sisters, and share a bond that can't be broken by outsiders. Yes, it'll make your relationship with her closer and you'll start to appreciate her on an entirely different level. And just think, when you want to borrow something, you'll only have to go across the hall to her room.

That is entirely up to the two of you. Any enduring relationship takes dedication.

I think it would be cool. If you both want it to work, it will work. You and she have an opportunity to have an extremely close and valuble relationship that can carry you through life.

If it happens, and you are having difficulty with the adjustment, ask your parents to get the two of you some councelling. It probably wouldn't take much....just work out some issues.

When I was in high school I had some friends ( both guys) and one of them started dating the others mother. Well, they ended up getting married and they hate each other now. Went from best friends to step father/ step son, and it was a disaster. Yours isn't so bad, you'll just be step sister/ step sister/ step brother. It might work.

if they got married, that means you and your best friend will live together, which means more time together, anyone you spend alot of time with there will be arguments because everyone is different and will have an arguement at some point. it dont mean you will become enemies.
