Truth is not the same as validity. Validity is a formal matter of how a conclusion follows from premises. For example:
p1) I drank rum and coke on monday and got drunk
p2) I drank bourbon and coke on tuesday and got drunk
p3) I drank whiskey and coke on wednesday and got drunk
Conclusion: Coke makes me drunk
Based on the previous three premises, the conclusion is valid, by the logical matching of the only explicitly consistent element in the premises. We all know it is not true, but that requires special knowledge about the world (about alcohol), not logic. Unless I know what premises someone is proceeding from, I cannot make a validity claim about either of your statements above. Our scientific knowledge about the world, however, makes it clear that the Christian view of God and Jesus is not true.

To be Christian is to think that Jesus is the son of God and a part of God but not God. To be Jewish is to think that Jesus was just a man and that G-d is the only G-d. To be Muslim is to think that Allah is God and that Muhammad is the supreme prophet. To be Atheist is to think that we eat, sleep, breathe and do it all over again day in and day out for no significant outcome.

So, you don't know who to believe? Atheiests believe in themselves only. Carbon life forms. No ethical or moral laws to stop them from anything, do as you please, no accountability in this life or the next, because there is no next. Why obey any laws at all? It's all about you, take what you can for yourself, nothing to live for anyway. What kind of life is that? With God, you have hope, and a sense of right and wrong, which leads to ethics, and yes, some fear about doing wrong. So start there, and take a look at the Bible and apologetics and good luckwith pursuing your faith.

What people's opinions and/or beliefs are, one way or another, won't change the reality of the truth -- whatever that is. And who among us REALLY knows the truth? But you are asking about opinions (by using the word "think"). It is likely that many people can attempt to validate their opinions to an external enquirer through references to scripture or religious training or science, etc. To the person who holds the opinion, his or her position is indeed valid.

I don't think you can have two opposing views both be valid. That being said, I think that to be forward and say that Jesus belief is idiotic would get me a lot more hate mail. So, everyone has valid views as they view it, and no one believes anything more or less valid in their mind. Yum.

Yes, they are both valid positions. We are all Gods, some of us closer to ascension than others.
Now that is an incredible thought.
Blessed Be.

The imporant thing is: who does Jesus think he is? The next important thing is: what is the truth?
What people think does not matter. People have the mentality of sheep, and so, are beloved by their creator, whether they believe or not.
