My health food store sells a wonderful vitamin called "Chill Pills." They are a B complex multi designed especially to relax you. My mom took them when I was sick from my radiation and was super stressed taking care of me. She loved them.

Supplements To Calm Nerves

Here's a couple of natural supplements that I suggest.

B-Complex: Often called The Happy Food. The B vitamins feed the nerves and have a profound effect on mental and emotional stability. Stress, medications, sugars and alcohol all rob the body of B vitamins. Recent findings show the important role B vitamins play in a healthy cardiovascular system. B-Complex helps with anti-stress, PMS, headaches; converts carbohydrates, fats & protein into energy, healthy hair, skin, and nails.

Stress Relief Complex: Fast Relief - Thirty minutes is all it takes for it to work.

Four all natural ingredients enable your own body reduce the effects of stress.
Promotes relaxation without drowsiness
Enhances the body's ability to adapt to continuing stress
Helps reduce the effects of everyday stress by blunting the cortisol response to stress
Helps make norepinephrine which is involved in mood regulation.

Also enables the body to create the antibodies necessary to cope with prolonged stress.

No Kava - a "fad ingredient" that the FDA warned may cause severe liver injury.

I know that B-Complex is readily available from various sources but from experience I know many of them have a very limited effect on oneself if any at all.

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions.

St. John's Wort is working great for me. I also tried Valerian root, but I didn't seem to get much response. I gather there are several, Chamomile, St. Johns Wort,Valerian Root, etc. They all seem to work differently with different chemistry and body types. Keep trying until you find one or a combination that works. Also, Melatonin and Omega supplements 3-4 hours before you go to bed. You will sleep like a baby.

Yes. 1. Lemon balm-helps get rid of knots in your stomach and tension symptoms 2. Positive affirmations. Write them every day 3-5 times a day. They include sayings like: "It is only a game. I am learning to be focused and calm" "Regardless of the outcome of the game there is always another opportunity. "I am having fun at the game and fun is more important than the outcome" 3. Deep abdominal breathing. In for 4, out for 4, in for 8 breaths out for 8 breaths. Breathe deep and low expanding your belly. 4. For performance anxiety, I have my music students eat bananas 30 minutes before they have to audition or perform. They have reported feeling less nervous from this. (bananas have a chemical that reportedly allows them to act as very low dose beta blockers) 5. Gaba or Kava Kava. See your doctor before taking these herbs.
