Very much, the amounts of sugar and caffeine make it about, or even more addictive, than your average cup of coffee. The bad effects of Coca Cola are advanced decaying of teeth, and the added caffeine affects the nervous system over a long period of time.

Its the caffeine in Coca-cola that causes the addictiveness.Drinking too much invites problems for yourself. Caffeine withdrawal symptoms can be very unpleasant,so beware those of you that continue to drink large amounts.Regular caffeine consumption reduces sensitivity to caffeine. When caffeine intake is reduced, the body becomes oversensitive to adenosine. In response to this oversensitiveness, blood pressure drops dramatically, causing an excess of blood in the head (though not necessarily on the brain), leading to a headache.
This headache, usually lasts from one to five days, and can be alleviated with analgesics Often, people who are reducing caffeine intake report being irritable, unable to work, nervous, restless, and feeling sleepy, as well as having a headache. In extreme cases, nausea and vomiting has also been reported.

Caffeine is very mildly addictive (physically). But Coke, and in fact most sodas don't really have that much caffeine (Mountain Dew, Code Red, etc. bieng notable exceptions, they have about twice as much as a normal soda).
Pretty much anybody who drinks coffee daily is addicted to it. But its not that big of a deal. Even if you stop cold turkey you'll go through no more than a couple weeks of headaches and maybe lethargy.
But for someone who drink just soda, the amount you have to drink to reach that level is pretty high. Search the web for a comparison of the amount of caffeine in a can of coke vs a cup of coffee, etc.

if your personality has an addictive tendency, then anything can turn into an addiction. But I agree that coca cola, as full of nasty chemicals as it is, can easily make someone addicted to it.

well coke its self is not but if you think about the amount of caffeine in it and the sugars it can very easily become addictive, i know my mother has been drinking coke for many many years and she has come to the point that if she goes a day with out it she gets a pretty bad migraine. But worse than the addiction to coke is what it does to ur body, it eats away at the enamel of ur teeth and you can pour it into ur toilet and clean off all the dirt and grime. its really not good for you at all, and i say all this while drinking a tall glass of coke...lol
