Yes, it is common in the tiny breeds, or as the first litter...
Congratualtions!!! she will spoil that pup rotten..single pups turn out such nice dogs, as they are so nurtured, by mom and by owners.
One of my huge dogs had one single pup..But, the dad was very old..it sometimes happens if the dad is very young, too. (less fertile)

Yes,lol thats possible although you should keep a watch on her because there is a possibility of there being more just a little slower at coming out.If she acts as if she is having trouble you should get her to a vet immediately as one could be stuck inside of her or she could have still borns.Dogs,of any breed can have just one puppy it is possible and if she only has one then there isnt something wrong with her just the way it worked out especially if its her first litter of pups or she is a small dog.

Congrats on the new baby!! Lots of dogs just have one puppy, specially a small breed dog and on the first litter. If you are raising dogs to make money, forget it. You are lucky to break even. Why do you call them Dorkies?

Yes, it doesn't normally happen, but any dog can have just a single puppy. And, Mammer/Jammer, small dogs CAN have more than one puppy at a time, I've personally seen it happen. Check with any breeder of miniature dogs.

It is not unusual for smaller breeds to have just one or two pups in a litter. Good luck
