if God told you, what did his voice sound like, what did he look like, what date what time, since it was important im sure you wrote it down.

I'm not trying to be mean with this question its just how do you know the bible isnt lieing or whoever told you about the jesus isnt lieing,

im just asking, its just a question, looking for your intelligent eloquent answers

Also, many people defend the position that the Bible is written by God by saying a bible verse where the Bible says its written by God, but couldn't a person write that?

Again, I'm just asking a question. No offense.

Jesus is God! God told me but not with a voice. He told me and everyone else through the Holy Bible.
He communicates with us through His Word and in our hearts and soul. It is not possible to hear God's voice today. However, it would make life a lot simpler if God would just tell me exactly what to say and do.
If He did speak to me, I would probably die from shock and that wouldn't do me much good. :)

God's voice, is Jesus. That is how Jesus is God. Jesus is the word of God, made flesh.
Sure mere men wrote the bible. But I challenge you to find over 50 men to all agree on the same pattern of events as in the bible. You can't! That is what makes it so much more than just a book.
No, God did not write the bible, but He did inspire it. I believe, not because of what some mere man has said, but because I know in my heart, and I've looked it up for myself. It actually is history. High contents of salt where Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt. Bottom feeding seacreatures fossils found on high mountains indicating a large flood. These aren't fairy tales, these events actually happened. The prediction of the Christ's birth. Stars were in alignment, sounds a lot like astronomy to me. I'm just pointing out some modern day facts, no offense, that are there now, that prove the events in the bible actually happened.

I believe that Jesus is the son of God. The Bible isn't lieing and neither are people who told me about God, Jesus, and the Bible. God is not Jesus, only Jesus is Jesus, and only God is God. I believe in God and Jesus very much. Jesus died for all of us. My brother almost died when he was 4, I was 7, and now I know my brother was saved by God. He's always there for everyone, all anyone has to do is believe in him and his son, Jesus. He was there for my brother and he'll be there for everyone else too. My family has went through many tough times, and we still are, but I and my family get through every day, with the help of God and Jesus. Right when you think you can't handle anymore tough times, God comes along to help you. Believe in him and Jesus, they will then be there for you when you need them! This is my opinion, so if you believe differently that is fine. I'm just anawering the way I believe!

I was raised in a Christian home, yet I have explored my avenues of different beliefs. Christianity holds the most value in my life, and has historical backing to it.

How do we know that the Bible wasn't added to?

The Dead Sea Scrolls help back that up, along with other fragments of scripture, were found to be dated long ago, and the historically passed Bible, is the exact same greek and hebrew. There are many examples of this, and I won't expound upon it, but if this is not a satisfactory answer, please e-mail me and I'll continue answering there.

1. Jesus is not god, he is the son of god
2. The bible is written by men, some of these men who supposely can hear God (thus called prophets)

if you tell this story with a modern twist i am sure people will just discard you as a nut case. but somehow just because bible is written at a time when science is virtually non-existent and superstition has a commanding presence over the common people, (not to mention through many blood sheds and wars in the name of god) thus the bible was pasted down as the book of god.

I know that Jesus is Lord because the Bible tells me so, and the Bible is the revealed word of God. I also know because of his witness in my life. If it wasn't for Jesus I would be a negative, drunken reveler like most of the people on this site, but instead I am an ordained minister of the gospel preaching and teaching to the lost. Jesus loves you.

revelation by the Holy Spirit that draws and convicts people of sin,
that's what happened to me.
The ancient manuscripts written by men empowered by God - his inspiration and power kept them from error. Correct me if this is wrong, the most educated one was (Saul)Paul, the rest were common and didn't have a high position like Paul did and he was educated by great scholars.
That's why it's good for people to learn Greek and Hebrew to read the ancient texts for themselves.... keep seeking knowledge and ask God to reveal truth to you. If you do have a new bible make sure it lines up with the old one and not one of those new politically correct versions .

The entire bible is inspired writing, which loosely means it was spoken by God and written by men. I am not a fanatic, but I am a baptized Christian, and I for one believe the bible is indeed infallible.
