how many of u think girls are treated unfairly in india?

mainly in india sum rents get mad wenever they have a baby girl---i think dats the stupid est thing ever.....

YES totally.. ure right.. i wanna share what i have seen with my own eyes..

just recently around 6 months back my sisters nanad (husbands sister) got married to a boy who her parents selected, the boy was supposedly good. but just before the wedding the the boys side started putting fwd demands.. since it is considered a shame for a wedding to break, the continued & fulfilled their demands 4 furniture, gold etc etc... but that was not the end... when she entered her new house it was hell for her.. she was bullied by her nanads & inlaws.. made to do all the work of the joint family consisting of many members.. taunted by them & made to fun of.. she is now 2 mths preg & still bullied by them.. she is not allowed to have a mobile or talk to anyone unless there is someone there to hear what she is talking.. needless to say she is unhappy...

for those who said it happens only in rural india.. u r mistaken.. this girl is an educated & from a wealthy of family.. she was working as a teacher before her wedding was fixed..

and yes now her husband & her inlaws expect her to have a beta (son)..

so this is the way it is even today in big cities.

Although it is illegal, so many girls are killed before they're even born, just because they're girls. This is causing all sorts of trouble for both young men and women of marriage age now, and it will only get worse. India, wake up! Get rid of dowry and learn to respect your women!

I agree with u but things r changing for good and it may take quite some time to get this situation completely.This is true mostly in villages and the situation in cities is different and is far far better.Lets pray that things get better and better

yes ,this is partially true for the people who are under priviledged or uneducated.But a large number of high class and middle class society in India has changed now and the girls themselves are changing this old rotten tradition.
