for some people the peroxide or the peroxide mixed with the color (when it does a chemical change) burns the scalp (same as when using permanent wave solution), and in permanent waving a cosmetologist can put vasaline on the skin...but it's more difficult to put vasaline on the skin when you are doing hair color, and you can't dilute it because the color won't take then. So most cosmetologists let it burn. They're right in that people do get sores, but the sores last only a few days, and once you get home you can put vasaline on them by yourself. Eventually (in a few days) the sores fall off and the hair underneath grows fine again.
I bleach my hair and add color, and I do it myself. Yes you do get sores but they heal. Try this next time: don't wash your hair for a day or more before you go to get your hair bleached, i.e. don't scrub your scalp for a few days prior to bleaching. And, don't let your scalp perspire for a couple of days prior to bleaching. Seems to me that lots of hair movement and also perspiration are two of the things that make the scalp burn and have sores.

Hi bleach burns which is why your scalp it burnt, did you actually tell the hairdresser it was burning when you where having it done because they shouldnt of carried on with it. My brothers ex had her hair bleached and they burnt her head and she told them when they were doing it and she got her money back because they had to leave it half done. So really there is nowt they can to anyway. I would go back and see if there is anything they could recommend for it. Ive heard tea tree shampoo and conditioner is good for irritated scalp, but i aint sure. If you go to a pharmacy and explain your situation they may recommend something.

did thay do a skin test on you before hand (its a patch of colour behind your ear this should be left on for 12 to 24 hours before you have a colour )or did you sigh something to say you didnt have a patch test if you didnt do both of these and your scalp is burnt or you have scabs on it get somebody to take some photos of your scalp and go see a solicitor , a salon is insured for this plus its up to the stylish to make sure you have a patch test this will let you no weather you have a reaction to the hair dye this should be done even if you have been to the salon before , the hair dye does make your head tingle sometimes but this only realy happens if you washed your hair before hand or the same day never or less if it was burning your scalp the stylish should of took it of there and then , my advice go see somebody now and dont leave it to long but you will only be able to get compo if your scalp if burnt and you have marks to prove it . if its still sore pore some cold milk over your scalp trust me it works just make sure you wash it after wards.

They should have done a strand test to see how your hair and scalp react to the bleach. They also should have washed it off immediately when you said it was burning, it even says that on all home hair dyes. It burns my head but not badly and only for a couple of mins, no marks or anything- this is what they probably class as 'normal' , not actual burning like yours.

To be honest this is the normal thing when having dye put on your hair. It all depends on the sensitivity of your scalp. This happened to me around a year ago and I ended up having to go to hospital to have it checked out. Luckily I was okay but I can tell you that you won't get any compensation as it is a side effect and you never sought out medical attention straight away.

Well I wouldn't go back ever. She should have rinsed it out.I am wondering if it was an allergic reaction or if she accidentally put bleach on your head that wasn't scalp bleach. Some lighteners are meant for streaking and are not safe for the scalp. It should heal up .If you leave your conditioners in longer it might help your scalp too.Theres really not much you can do.Did you call the manager?

your scalp burns when they leave the bleach on too long or use a bleach with a high peroxide this shouldnt happen if they are a professional hairdressers. phone up trading standards and sue them they deserve it, they should at least have apologised gave you your money back and offered a free treatment. cowboys
