does not have unlimited money and resources to support every person who wants to come live here? We are in debt up to our eyeballs, healthcare costs are out of control, poverty, unemployment, and homelessness are increasing constantly.

If you can't support the children you already have--do you keep having more? Do you go out and adopt more? Of course not! You stop, get your budget under control, and take care of your family. It's common sense.

We can't handle any more immigrants! It's not hatred or racism or unfairness--it's simple fact--supply and demand. I know this country started with immigrants, but we're FULL, there's no more room at the inn.

Why isn't this a no-brainer???

I agree that our money is misused and often wasted. I don't mind paying taxes, but I wish we had more control over how it's spent.

I know we're not literally "full" and there is land available, but what are we supposed to do, build free houses on that land for anyone who decides to cross the border?

It comes down to this…

If you are legally entitled to work in this country, welcome, and become part of the American experience!!! If you are illegally in this country, get the f**k out!!!

Respect our borders. Learn our language. Learn our culture. Respect our flag. Pay your own taxes. Pay your own bills. Become part of the solution, not part of the problem. Respect and obey the laws that all Americans live by.

If you do these things, you will always be welcome in America. If you don’t want to do these things, you will NEVER be welcomed here.

America is the greatest country in the world and we welcome all people that want to follow our laws.

America, love it or leave it!!!

I agree with your question. America has become full. Social services are draining resources people from Mexico have the mindset to continue use the same failed attitudes to life that brought them here in the first place. I don't know about you, I sure don't want all that open land turned into neighbor- hoods at some point the dam will burst. More jobs are shipped overseas, more cheap labor is being imported. The economy is not going to stay this way forever when it slow downs what will illegals do then ?

You're absolutely right, now let's get Congress to acknowledge that, and we'll be farther along, here. To their credit, the Senate did finally grudgingly agree to getting more of the US/Mexico border fence built, but not the entire length of the border, so they're still waffling a bit....strong hearty words of encouragement from actual citizens and voters on the issue will help to spur them on to more effective and resolute policy changes in regard to immigration enforcement. In theory, they should be all over this issue by now like bees on a flower, but we're stilllll lacking on the evidence of good effect from current policy, which is worrisome due to the fact that, well, frankly, the more people that move in from other countries illegally, the more they're going to eventually be able to influence our country from WITHIN, and try to channel more tax revenue to their home countries. Rather than actually engage in legitimate trade and profit from it, the name of this game is to grab everything you can and make a 'run for the border' as it were. We're being systematically taken advantage of, here, and it needs to stop. I'd like to see a shareholder audit done of some of these real estate and mortgage lending companies, for example...I think that'd be real illuminating, get some public accountability happening again and find out why illegal aliens are being permitted to sign mortgage papers etc.

We've already seen acts of desperation, evidence that there's been shooting at the border AND elsewhere, and the soap opera goes on forever, and Congress has the power to bring it all to a short halt but thus far has failed to. Maybe what we need to do is 'outsource' some of the choices being made to the actual citizens and voters being impacted by all of this, and get Congress back in the game of representing the voting public rather than just administering unto at will...they gotta listen to us on this one, not just turn a deaf ear to legitimate grievances. Nobody likes a critic, but in this instance, I think healthy criticism is justified. Vote in November, too....

I agree with you 100%. The solution seems so very simple. If they are here illegaly...they are criminals. Send them back. Also beef up border patrol..bigger guns, sharp shooters. I bet they could even get volunteers. These illegals are a kick in the *** not only to every american but also to the immigrants that came here legally!

Because most people don't believe that argument.

If the US can spend tens of billions of dollars nation-building in Iraq, and spend hundreds of billions of dollars in foreign aid, then obviously it hasn't reached its limits.

As to being physically full, have you ever driven through the American west. Huge expanses of empty (beautiful, breathtaking) land. So, that argument is hard to support logically as well.

Personally, I'm not disagreeing with you. But for the argument to work, it has to address the logical flaws that keep getting pointed out.

Because of liberalism. It's a mental disorder.

See, liberalism is the loss of one's ability to reason. It's all feelings. I once heard it described as "idealism apart from reality",a dn that's a sound definition.

The facts don't matter to those people...only their own feelings.

What they don't understand is that the suffering of a few will become the suffering of many. It doens't matter to them. It hurt shteir feelings to see immigrants turned away, and so they want them in. And when it screws everything up even more, and this is the kicker, they will opt for EVEN MORE LIBERALISM AS A SOULTION TO THEIR PROBLEM!

It's a mental disorder.

Plus, they hate America.

brainer? get some brains and education yourself sweetheart .... that line of thinking is nazi-like .... trying to blame your problems on a certain group of people has been shown throughout history to be WRONG everytime ..... the REAL problem with the economy in this country is the central bank ....THE FEDERAL RESERVE ...and if you cared to actually take the time to learn about how the system works you would see it plain as day .... the federal reserve is the most evil and corrupt institution this country has ever known and it is impoverishing the people and making them all subservient ... so dont blame the poor hardworking illegals that have been around since time began in this country ... they arnt hurting nobody, and the truth of the matter imo is that this whole immigration thing is a propaganda campaign designed to get YOU to accept your new national ID ( Real ID) in 2008.

Tell that to your buddy Bush, he's decided to open up our borders to everyone by 2010. It's called the North American Union, and conservatives are pissed. Conservatives say "Bush sold America out".

The N.A.U will open up our borders. We Won't be called America anymore we will be the N.A.U. To put it in simply terms, if you think immigration is bad now, wait till Bush opens up the borders.

But don't take my word for it, click on this article from a REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVE magazine that explains it. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=14965

Don't you understand that there are not many people with common sense in this country so you are preaching to yourself .
We all know what we should do , but do we do it ? No , let someone else do it , just leave me alone and let me do what I want . What kind of common sense is that

Why should they understand? We take them in anyways.
And people that want to use others (even native born) don't stop having kids or drawing checks.
We can have more immigrants but they must be legal and screened.
