I am a total Zelda geek (can't wait for Twilight Princess and the new DS game!!)
Pay Ingo to ride a horse. Play Epona's song and the Epona (the white horse) will come over to you. You will have to complete a few more things in a certain amount of time, otherwise you will have to start all over.
Ride Epona, and then go talk to Ingo while you are riding Epona. Ingo should challenge you to a race (I think you have to pay him some money again, cheap guy). You have to use your carrots to jump over fences during the race. Ingo will be pretty upset when he loses and he should challenge you to another race.
This time he will set the stakes higher, claiming the winner of the race will own Epona (the Zelda equivalent of racing for pinks i suppose). When you win, Epona will be yours, but you won't be able to leave the pasture until you jump over the fence.

you mean the white hourse...
Sigh...I was told months ago that zelda's white horse can be obtained after getting a perfect score of 2000 in hourseback archery from yahoo answers.
I was in it for seven months until I finally got a perfect score...but...
NOTHING HAPPENED...NOTHING!
NOTHING!!!!!!
now if I hear from that person I will not be so nice...
There is no white horse in the ocarina of time...none....no saddle, no gold saddle, no horse enhancements.
