i want to make an online forum to work from my server.. can u suggest me more details for this,

well there are a lot of different free online forum, phpbb vulletin or pnforum as a module of postnuke, if u want just a forum go and get phpbb, i think it is the most widely used forum on the net phpbb.com

u can find 12 open source forums as a demo stie installed, so u can test one and then choose which one u like best

Myspace has a section for creating forums. Many of your college friends probably already have Myspace accounts anyway so it will be easy for them to participate.
