if it's for school, you shouldn't "cheat" and ask us. you should learn to think for yourself, maybe ask an adult and discuss it. That way, you will get a better understanding of it all and learn something.

Hi, flying in plane carries many risks, and to make air travel safer for passengers, there is this need to ban potential hazards. So, responsible travellers should heed this. The items are banned for a purpose, and not just to tick people off.

Flying presents a new dimension to travel. However the problem of pressure changes on normal items as oppose to ground level meant that restrictions need to be in place. For example what is liquid at ground level becomes gas at height and becomes a breathing hazard in the confined space of a plane. So this type of hazard need to be banned. Like perfume, oil-based liquid etc.

Reduced pressure in flight meant that normal pressurised spray can becomes an exploding bomb if brought to a very low pressure zone suddenly. So anything that is pressurised cannot be carried onboard the plane, even in the checkin. Replace spray can with pump bottles for safer travel. Users are usually advised to transfer their needed items into pump bottles for their travel needs.

In a confined and oxygen-rich plane, a spark is a trigger for an explosion. Hence any thing that can create a spark will have to be properly prepared for flight. No accidental electrical contact is prepared on items before putting into aircraft, like batteries, electrical components batterypowered, etc. Some years back an aircraft caught fire because a box of batteries was not declared and put onboard and some leaked and caught fire.. A true case accident.

Fuel and oils vaporise easily at low pressure, so may affect the cabin air. Hence any motor or fuel container has to be drained and dried and clear of fuel gas before being allowed onboard.

All these precautions are internationally agreed and form the basis of law for transportation internationally. So such ban does not occur in your country alone, it is worlwide. And this is necessary to ensure that air travellers safety is considered.

Hope this is good to help you. Otherwise you can email me and I can try to direct you to more complete source of the regulations on this issue.

The British foiled a terrorist attack planned for nine airplanes flying from London to the USA. They planned to blow up the planed by mixing liquids and gels they brought aboard in toothpaste tubes and shampoo bottles. So, now all liquids and gels are now banned from carry on luggage.

Ms newcancer, isn't it a shame that you appear to be old enough to read newspapers, watch TV and do many of the other "educational" things but you are unable to fathom any of it. You need to copy it from the internet's bottomless source of mis-information. Good luck.

any thing could be a bomb or chemical threads. Baby bottles are not allowed in the plane unless the mother drinks out of it first to show it is milk.

Mostly for protection. I mean it ticked me off when they said no liquids on planes and crud, but if it will keep the terrorists from getting nitroglycerine on there, then fine by me.

Because of recent reports and probable terrorist plans. Personally, I'd rather be safe!

Safe flying!

how about terrorists hijacking planes and flying them into buildings, or people hiding explosives in their shoes, or people planning to fly from europe to the US and blow 10 planes over US cities.
