In 1993 a guy, James Miller "The Fan Man" took a parachute fan flying machine into Cesar's outdoor stadium and attempted to land this thing in the ring during the Bowe vs Holyfield bout, it was the seventh round of the fight about 2:00 minutes into the round when he almost made it into the ring, he got caught up in the ropes, Holyfield was the first to notice him of the two fighters looked up and jumped back out of the way, Bowe looking a Little more relaxed thanked his Lucky stars because the fight was starting to turn in Holyfields favor and there was about a 45 minute delay in the fight meanwhile members of Bowes posse attack "Fan Man" and beat him senseless where he was then taken to the hospital treated for his injuries and released, just in time to arrested for "Dangerous Flying" and released $200 bond. End of story

Yep, it happened.
The guy had a fan strapped to his back for propulsion. Got a heck of a beating at the hands of Bowe's entourage, as I recall.
