Why is he doing this to me?

This guy that I've known for about 6 months. He's flirted before then started acting really nice but just in a friendly way. Started making more eye contact then before. But about a month ago he came over to give me work. This is how I know him. He gave it to me and just stood there with his arms over my cubicle. So I tried making personal conversation with him. He acted really shy and nervous and acted as if he didn't want to. But when he left he smiled at me and really looked into my eyes. But as I was leaving the building he saw me and again smiled big and looked at my lips I felt like. But then looked down the whole way out wouldn't look at me. The next day when I past him he looked at me hesitanly but then an hour later was tring to get my attention by sneaking up on me. Then looked at me with a big smile and just kept looking at me. But then he went back to no eye contact at all. But then a week went by and I bumped into him in the hall and I had to hand him somethi

he had to hand me something at first he acted like he didn't want to see me but when we went to hand it to each other I said I'll trade ya. He just stared into my eyes really serious for like 5 seconds then looked down to take the paper and laughed. Sometimes I do ignore him because of his reaction to me. He did this to me again the other day when handing me something he just stared at me. But then he goes back to his old self again. But sometimes when he goes by my desk he makes it known that he's passing by talking loud to my supervisor. What's his deal. Why does he do this to me. Is there something wrong with me? Is it because he thinks I like him and he wants to keep me on a string. Even though I don't acknowledge him sometimes. Any advice and opinions would be great. Everyone thinks he's a really sweet guy and people have even joked that he's a player meaning the opposite so why does he do this?

There is this girl at work i like. I always try to find reason in my head to go near her, but every break, every lunch ,every meeting I walk the long around so I dont pass by her desk. Why? low self esteem, im too worried if i make a move she'll just think im an idiot and everyone at work will look down at me.....so my advice to you is if you do like him,ask him out, but in a way where he thinks he is asking you... Say to him, hey, what ya doing this weekend? oh really? I have NOTHING to do, i've been dying to goto that new/great/fun resturant over on . Now at this point he should ask you out, if not he is either super shy or just not interested. If he doesnt ask you to go with him there, try probing his mind by asking "you ever been" if he says yes respond "and you didnt invite me?" or "lucky! was it good? i've gotta try it now!" if he still isnt getting it, he's a moron and just call me and we'll go out, lol...good luck

If you're interested and he's really anything but a player, then I'd say you are both paralyzed by nerves. Someone needs to make a move or erase the idea from your head completely. Word of caution (and I have used this before), never dip your pen in company ink...

He sounds painfully shy! Try to be more encouraging to him if you are interested. Guys need to be given some reinforcement that you like them, otherwise they get insecure sometimes.
