All airlines will be able to provide you with a list of banned carryon items. More complete list can be found in the ICAO and FAA rules and regulations.

Go to any airline website, they will have a list of restricted items.

Aside from the obvious of weapons, etc. liquids and gels of any kind are also excluded - unless it is prescription medicine or baby food.
