In order to opine one must have a tendency to depression. I believe depression has as one of its causes a lack of stimulus so it is contraindicated in liberal thinkers( oops I used a word which is more than monosyllabic) maybe life is easier for the gullible conservatives all that is required is one half of the human mind.Since thought is really not a requirement due to the fact that conservative people just do what they are told regardless of the consequences of that action. You conservatives dont need to think you just do according to your ethic of blind obedience to the leader or should I say Fuhrer. Speaking of that weren't the nazis and their beliefs based on a form of radical conservatism. Speaking of brain hurts. It is generally known that parts of the human body hurt when they have been overstressed. So it should go without saying that if the mind hurts then that is because it has been used extensively to try to come up with solutions to problems created by the mindless automatons otherwise known as conservatives. I apologze for the wording of this reply as it will take an inordiately long period of time for those of a conservative bent to look up the words in a dictionary. By the way I am not a liberal justifying myself I am something much worse in your pea brained conservative mind I am a SOCIALIST thinker .

younger fella, right?

The world isn't black and white, or liberal and conservative. You should decide on issues on their own merits, not because it's us vs. them.

Everyone needs to use their mind, and think things through, and not just surrender your autonomy to some authoritarian leader, left or right.

Keep in mind, that whoever you're discussing the issues with, they too are an American, and they too are doing their best, by their own lights, to do what's best. No one ever deliberately takes on the self-concept of "bad guy".

Where community and nationhood breaks down is when you attack the person holding a view counter to your own. There's the enemy, disunity. Every time an American tears a new one in another American without thinking things through, that's when the terrorists win.

As I asked earlier, you're young, likely. You'll learn. Just don't do or say anything reprehensible enough that you won't be able to forgive yourself in the future.

........

............

You asked for proof of a Bush lie.

go to

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0112/04/se.04.html

Scroll almost all the way down. Here's the lie:

"Well, Jordan (ph), you're not going to believe what state I was in when I heard about the terrorist attack. I was in Florida. And my chief of staff, Andy Card -- actually I was in a classroom talking about a reading program that works. And I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower -- the TV was obviously on, and I use to fly myself, and I said, "There's one terrible pilot." And I said, "It must have been a horrible accident."

But I was whisked off there -- I didn't have much time to think about it, and I was sitting in the classroom, and Andy Card, my chief who was sitting over here walked in and said, "A second plane has hit the tower. America's under attack." "

The first plane strike was NOT caught on video.

Bush knew about the first strike before reaching the school. Among other sources:

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/print/0,,4258186-102275,00.html

The point here is, why lie about something so basic? He's lying to a kid about an important moment in history. Why?

If a man will lie about about something so obvious, why won't he lie about other things?

Amazing how you make such a sweeping accusation and don't even back it up with any facts or reasoning. You're just an ignorant hatemonger. No surprise. It's like John Stuart Mill (of course, YOU're not familiar with him) said: "While it's not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative."

Did you just drop the word "opine" outside of a legal context? Wow. I am not impressed, you uppity, little snot.

FYI. When you say "opine" in the future, people will just stop listening. Bye.

I might be a liberal but I know that sticking a question mark on the end of a statement does not make it a question.

You're not asking a question--you're making a statement. Perhaps a liberal education is what would benefit you in the long run.

Actually, liberals aren't 'ignorant', they can be very well informed and taught. Ignorant means "destitute of knowledge or education". So I believe you just showed your own ignorance.

Anyone who attacks anyone else based on the fact that they are liberal or conservative are the ignorant ones...and that would be you.

They like to ignore facts. In politics and in other things. This lib I work with is always ignoring things he should be paying attention to, like Expiration dates, warning labels, that kinda thing. He thinks he knows better.
