If god is all-powerful, wouldn't "he" be the engineer of all our sins? If he has given us free will to decide for ourselves, then he has relinquished power. If the devil can push a person to sin, the devil also has some kind of divine power (in that he is invisible, yet capable of changing our lives). Again, god has relinqueshed power to the devil. So he is not all-powerful.

Which is it? Is he all powerful or not?

The question has been done to death in Theology, search for "the problem of evil". There are various ways of trying to reconcile the existence of evil with an all ppwerful and all loving God- vale of soul making, fellow sufferer, free will etc

Yes the problem is also one of causation - if God knows it all before it happens and set the whole Eden thing in motion then wasn't there really only one course of action- God creates the serpent - The serpent would tempt the woman, the woman the man. Interestingly the serpent tells the truth (you will know good and evil, and God lies - you will die - who would set up a kid [had they any life experience!?] for a fall like this and then punish them forever? you see the really interesting cake, mmm, don't taste it while I'm gone)

The problem of evil is a logical problem of first causes (though faith isn't based on logic) if you subscribe to the premises and constraints of the Christian story.

Just as a good parent doesn't force his/her child into obedience, God doesn't force us to do anything against our will.

Christians knows that God has our best interests at heart and thus choose to obey God/do good.

Jeremiah 29: 11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

God is the Almighty, all powerful God in heaven.

Only those who do not have true power need to force people to obey them, which is why God doesn't force but gives His people free will.

No evil is not from God. Sin is the result of human freedom to disobey God. All powerful isnt a biblical category. Neither is all knowing.

very good question
i think he is both now i know im going out there but if he was all powerful why didnt he just poof destroy the devil right becaused he conspired against god.
i think god is good and evil.because with out one the other can not be. without evil you dont know what good is and with out good you dont know what evil is so he is all powerful yet not powerful at all

our sinning doesn't prove anything about whether god is powerful or not. he may be powerful and not meddling in our affairs. or he may have other things to attend to. we may not be all that important in this world. our sinning even less important.
so qn cannot be answered on the given premises.

It's called free will. If you choose evil over good knowing the consequences, why would He want you in heaven anyway? I think its to weed out the weak souled.

God is all powerful but he gave us freewill to do his will or not. He can change your life but only if you believe in him and accept him!@

One of the expressions of His love is that He does not control us like puppets but gives us the free choice to love Him in return or reject HIM

Yes, he is. If you read the bible, or books by Srila Prabhupada, then you would know this already. These books explain a lot.

God does not exist. But, if he did, he is evil beyond imagination and should be shunned, not worshiped.
