It depends on what you like. But this is my usual...
Ground beer, italian sausage, prego sauce (ricotta/parmesan), noodles.
I brown the ground beef until it's done all the way through. Season it with a little adobo and oregano. Drain the meat. I take the sausage and cook those in a separate pan while browning the ground beef. Then I put the sausage in the pan with the meat, add the sauce and let it simmer for about 40-45 minutes so the sauce can really flavor the meat. I cook the spaghetti noodles and drain them. And I mix everything in one large pot. Make sure to use as much sauce as you need. This is disgusting if it's too dry. Make a nice ceasar salad and some crescent rolls. And you have a nice meal. (if you're grown, some red wine)
I don't eat onions or peppers but my aunt does the same recipe she just chops up some onions and peppers for her sauce.
I hope dinner comes out good

You don't need meatballs to go with your spaghetti, they just happen to be one of the more popular choices.
Are you cooking this for guests? If so, you may want to put a little more thought into it. Are you making your own sauce, or is it from a jar? If you're making your own, I hope you have a good recipe - good sauce does not have to be difficult.
As for the pasta - bring a pot of water with a generous pinch of salt to a boil. Add the pasta and allow to cook at least 10 minutes or so. Taste a piece every so often until it reaches the consistency you want. Most people prefer "al dente," meaning that the pasta is tender, but not mushy - still a little firmness to it.
Something easy you could do to accompany your spaghetti would be garlic bread. Just a loaf of Italian bread, split lengthwise. Fine chop a head of garlic (peel all the cloves first) or used a jar of minced garlic. Melt some butter. Brush the butter generously on the bread, spread the garlic evenly over the bread as well. You can also add garlic powder, minced onion, onion powder and parlsey or oregano - it's all pretty much to taste. Toast it in the oven at a high temp or the broiler until golden brown. Watch it carefully though, cause it can go from raw to black pretty quick if you're not careful.
If you want meat with your spaghetti, you could brown a small roast in a pot, then pour the sauce in with it and let the whole thing simmer for a bit until the meast is cooked through. Same thing if you decide to make meatballs.

All you need is hamburger meat, noodles, and spaghetti sauce...the rest are extras...but these things are the basics. That's all I use in my spaghetti and I like it. And when you mix the sauce in with the meat...I don't know why, but adding sugar makes it really good. I jus take a couple of table spoons and sprinkle it in the sauce and stir. It makes all the difference. And if you're looking to make somehting other than just plain spaghetti....after everything's done, mix the noodles and meat and sauce...put it in a pyrex pan like you use to make lasagna....load it up with tons of cheese on top and bake it in the oven until the cheese is really melted. Bam! Baked Spaghetti! Yum! Invite me for lunch? Please? lol.

There are so many choices. You could add some browned ground beef, or some pork steaks or some Italian sausage. Even chicken adds a great flavor to sauce. Experiment! Just make sure you brown whatever meat you're using, and give it plenty of time to cook till done in the sauce.

Meat ball is optional. You can use plain ground beef, or italian sausage cut into bite sized pieces. If you use spaghetti sauce that has chunky mushrooms you may even omit the meatballs or other substitutes.

This recipe is for Creamy Fettucini Alfredo, but you could substitute spaghetti in place of the fettucini.
You could call lit Creamy Spaghetti Alfredo
1 8 ounce package of cream cheese cubed
3/4 cup of 100 per cent grated parmeasan cheese
1/2 cup of margarine
1/2 cup of milk
8 ounces of fettucini ( substitute your spaghetti here)
In large saucepan, combine cream cheese, parmesan cheese, margarine and milk, stir over low heat until smooth, add spaghetti, toss lightly.

cook the sauce in a crock pot for a few hours, then fill a pot with water and wait for the water to bubble, then put your noodles in the water, stir , wait about 15 min. you can buy meat balls already done in the frozen food section at your super market. so, get a culander, drain the noodles, put the sauce over the noodles, whalla!!!! you have made spaghetti!!!!

If you have some hamburger fry it up and put it in your sauce. Alot of people eat it with no meat in the sauce. Depends what your preference is.
