You are right....we should ask forgiveness from the person instead of from God.....Christ spends a lot of time speaking to his disciples about their relationships with each another.
It occurred to me the other day that when Christ answered Peter telling him to forgive his brother 70 x 7, Christ was referencing indirectly, Abimelech, who became a judge in Jewish history and because of his lust for power, executed all 70 of his siblings.....
I believe that Christ was saying to Peter, quit murdering your brother (in your heart), just so you can be the greatest.....Forgive, 70 x 7.

I'm not completely sure but it sounds to me like that comes out of the Old Testament. In my own experience, you can go to Christ with anything, at ANYTIME. If you do that before you ask fogiveness from the person you hurt, He'll put it in your heart to go seek forgiveness and even put the words in your mouth.
God doesn't require sacrifices like that anymore, He sent Jesus as the ultimate sacrifice. However, that's not an exuse to not seek forgiveness. If you know what i mean.... Go 4 it! He's on your side!

No, One should always attempt seek forgiveness from the one"s we hurt, however, nothing is more important than confessing ones sins to Almighty God and then to repent. It is possible that one could not even ask forgiveness from a hurt brother but that should never stand in our path to God.

No. Sometimes we can't talk to the people due to the time of day or distance to them. With God, you can ask at anytime. Also as sacrifices are rarely done these days, it won't make any difference.

IN the "LORD'S PRAYER" there's a line there that says.... "and forgive us in our sins as we forgive those who have sin against us" so we must learn how to forgive if we want forgiveness from God.... Amen!!!
