I am sure that an alien came to you in your sleep and you were unconcienciously programed this way...There is no other logical reason, really, if you think about it.

It is truly disgusting to have some complete stranger fart out of nowhere, but that is something that we must naturally do in life. You had better get over it because one day (if not already) you are going to find someone to spend the rest of your life with, they are going to fart, and you can't get that angry with them...
Do you get violently angry when you fart, or is it with others only. Maybe it is a form of Etiquete that is being forgotten, you shouldn't fart around someone though, that is very rude and nasty...

I'm not sure about the violent part, but it certainly is understandable to be angry because it is SO rude!
