First of all, is this a question? Don't you know that every politician who stakes a claim in unpopular subjects shortens their career significantly. The immigration issue borders on racism. Politicians won't touch it. It's this weakness of US politics which the undocumented immigrants are taking advantage of. It's the job of the federal government to take up authority on this issue and our government has been truly delinquent and inept on the subject.

"President" Bush upholds the law in that he doesn't want illegals here. I've heard him say many times that this is a free country but it has laws, and people should abide by the law. America does need people to work on the farms though and he is willing to work something out with Mexico but the people must come here legally.
