no, because the government has developed so much technology, they can keep a tap on almost anyone at any time.
the future will see fewer people being able to get away with stuff, as the governments power will expand due to technology.

The really ones do. You know like the Mafia, the Russian Mafia, and the Japanese Mafia(Yakuza). Here in America people think of the Mob and compare it to the Mafia. That doesn't have any pull anymore. That's because the leaders became a JOKE.
