I've been getting head achs and dizzy lately, which could be tottaly unrelated. But having the right amount of protein is important anyway. Does anyone know how to calculate the right amount of protein in your diet? or a website that does it for you? I am going to go to a nutritionist, just not right away.

If you are feeling lightheaded and dizzy this could be a sign of hypoglycemia or insulin sensitivity.Vegan diets are extremely difficult to balance, and u need to make sure you eat every 2-3 hours to keep your blood sugar steady. Combine a protein nuts, peas, lentils, beans, tofu etc with a complex carb like a whole grain cracker, piece of fruit,or even some carrot sticks. You can also use the vegan protein shakes, and protein bars. You need about 3-4 servings of protein per day.you can do a google search and get many websites where u can calculate ur needs.or visit shareware.com and download some nutrition software.Make sure you check with a trained dietition, and I encourage you to listen to your body, vegan diets are not always best.

You need to study your nutrition if you want to be a healthy vegan or vegetarian. A certain amount of protein is not enough. You need to make sure you eat a variety of proteins to get all the essential amino acids. Any animal protein has all of them, but there is not vegetable that has all of them. I don't have time to do it for you, but you need to find out what foods you like have these amino acids.

it is usually not protein intake that you should be worried abt when going vegan as there are many vege sources. you should be more wary of certain vitamins and minerals which can only be derived from animal sources. try to read up as much as possible and ask the people on such diets how they cope before you start on such a program yourself. As for dizzy spells, i guess you could be anemic from lack of iron. iron could be easily obtained from leafy vegetables like spinach.

You can get more than enough protein with a vegetarian or vegan diet. For recipe ideas, try visiting vegweb or fatfreevegan.
For a great site to track your nutritional intake (and you can even use their meal plans, which have a vegan/vegetarian option), visit www.sparkpeople.com
It's a really great site and offers information, recipes, nutritional and fitness tracking...and it's free!

I don't know of a website, but I know if you eat plenty of soy, and nuts you should get enough protein.
I must caution you, however, to get a vitamin B6 supplement ,as the only natural source is from animals and a deficiency could cause serious problems.

Yeah on occasion as a results of fact they seem to make human beings think of we are loopy. i'm loopy, notwithstanding it relatively is no longer as a results of fact of animals ;) Edit: hear scientific care-ros..., i'm no longer announcing that PETA is loopy, nor that anybody who works for animal rights is loopy in any respect. I continuously hear human beings announcing that PETA all and sundry is loopy, and PETA does some issues that others do see as loopy. it is the only reason I stated what I did. I comprehend why PETA does the failings they do, yet a sort of different persons don't comprehend it. I DO help PETA, yet I do have confidence that they might get a splash overboard and freak human beings out. Jeesh, loosen up. i ended the remark with a comedian tale. and that i do no longer conform to any crowd, i do no longer supply a sh*t what all people thinks approximately me, I combat for animals purely as no longer common as you do. what's happening to animals impacts me so deeply that i'm getting very depressed whilst i think of of what they are dealing with. you mustn't decide human beings, somewhat on a query like this. no longer all and sundry who's scuffling with for animals is of a similar opinion with all of Petas movements. we are on a similar component, scuffling with a similar combat here. with the aid of the way I too am very ashamed to be a human, somewhat whilst thinking a pair of quote I heard the place somebody stated "If animals had a faith, human beings would be the devil." that has effects on me extra advantageous than you may ever comprehend.

If you are planning to go vegan, you need to see that nutritionist sooner rather than later. Good health is something you can't always get back.
