Absolutely. Dogs sense far more than we generally give them credit for. Even if she doesn't know you're pregnant, she knows something's up with you.
Even better, she may be protective of your newborn when you bring him/her home. My folks had a dachshund that wouldn't allow anyone near me without her being present when they brought me home. She thought she was a nanny or something.
When the baby does come home, be sure to include your dog in activities with the baby in order to prevent jealousy. Dogs are notoriously good with babies. You won't want to leave them alone together, but certainly let the dog check out the baby.
Good luck, and congratulations!

being pregnant can't be clinically determined at 3 weeks with the aid of ANY technique, so i'm undecided why A) you will even suspect she's pregnant, and B) how your vet would bypass forward and make that prognosis. you mustn't be doing something yet getting her spayed. 'Maternal instincts' do no longer kick in whilst domestic canine get pregnant, and all people who says it is an fool. there is LITTLE probability this form of youthful domestic dog will mom a muddle, and in case you enable her to have it, your determination will reason everlasting injury to her growing to be physique, the data of you will start to be sure a pair of years down the line. do no longer carry a team extra labs into the international whilst shelters can't place those that are already here

She probably does know. Pets like dogs can be very protective when they know the owner is in a different state. It's just like a person trying to protect someone they care about, and in this case it is a pet. I'm sure it's nothing majorly wrong.

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/trainingdog
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

dogs are very smart and they usually know when something is up, and i'm sure she can tell you are pregnant, it's probably a good thing though, maybe she will be protective of the baby too. just make sure you train her so she doesn't bite people. let her know that certain things are ok.

Yes dogs can tell your emotions and feelings. Most dogs get very attached to there owners babies. Your dog might start getting overprotective of the baby but i mean like if someone starts touching the baby or holding it the dog may growl or get uncomfortable. I've seen it happen. Its nomal.

Dogs are very smart. It is possible your dog notices your mood swings or change in mood and has become more protective. Where you in a bad relationship? If you were hurt and the dog is aware of this, it could be a possibility also.

Dogs and other animals that love their owner so much can probably tell if there is something different about you. Obviously your doggie loves you soo much she wants you and her new playmate to be save. I think it's sweet! You are so lucky to have a dog!

There's no doubt that she knows. Shelties are herding dogs with a natural instinct to warn off any possible predators. You just happen to be her entire "herd" so she feels it necessary to warn off everybody because you are more vulnerable in your present condition.
