Be careful..Improperly framed windows will not operate properly and will probably leak. Framing has to be perfectly straight, plumb, and level. You need a framing square, a good level, and good materials. I'd check out a book on home repair at the local library. That way you can see pictures of properly framed openings. If you don't have access to nail guns, I'd suggest using screws. You'll find it easier to keep everything aligned during assembly.
