Well, I know the army has. I'd be surprised that the air force has, because they're not having recruitment problems and are actually cutting personnel.

There are a lot of jobs that do not require good physical conditioning, as an example a clerk, cook at a base, dark-room chemist, order-of-battle analyst, etc, etc. Why shouldn't they be staffed by old soldiers and even people who have deformities.

Brain-power doesn't always need a sound body in order to work effectively.

I think the services are missing many good workers by insisting on young guys, who have yet to learn life's experiences.

In some very special cases yes. Many guys are keeping themselves in very good physical condition these days and can still pass the physical fitness exams for the millitary.

If a guy has the background and skills needed by the millitary and are in really great shape for their age, they are being allowed in.

I don't know if this is in the warrent officer corps or regular enlisted ranks.

Yes and I strongly considered re-joining after 9-11. I am 39. But this time I would have joined the Marines instead of the Navy.

IF they have, its becauce so many of our young men will not go in, for they have plans ya know, there not willing to take a stand for all those that came before them,not saying this was is right,we can truly say only the brave are serving, by choice, since they no longer have the draft

41 is correct but they will take you as high as the age of 55. theyre short on officers and sergeants.

I haven't heard that, but it would be cool. I believe if you get a RN degree you can join up to age 36 with a 20,000 sign on bonus!
