I haven't changed my diet, or changed my shower schedule. But they taste different. Do you know why?

That's going to be tough to answer - toenails take up to 12 months to grow out so if it was something in your diet it may have beem something you ate a year ago.

Heavy metals can go lto the hair and nails. Been around anything hot or fuming lately! Ingested any metals, or arsenic? Spread any bug killer? Sprayed any aerosols? Spray paints?

My question is: why do earthworms taste gritty?

How can you be sure that it actually tastes different? Maybe, you were walking around bare footed before you tasted them.

First change your diet toenails not good. How about your shoes or shoes changed them? lol

How long has it been since you changed your socks before chewing off your toenails.
do you actually eat them or just chew on them?
Do they taste better or worse then before?

You may be running low on Vitamin L. This is one of the symptoms.
