I think that person would be in need of Dr Phil - he or she would need some self-esteem just to guide their own lives. I hope they aren't married to anyone - or have kids.

If a person feels the *need* to rely on a psychic for their answers, and not their own intuitions, then it's tantamount to an addiction. The commonest misconception in the world today seems to be that psychics know *everything* and that is certainly not the case. A psychic is essentially a counsellor (spiritual advisor) who can, perhaps, give more of a spiritual insight into a situation and offer options or resolutions accordingly. But it should always be up to the "readee" to make the ultimate choices. Sadly, some people do not because maybe they feel that the "missing link" in their lives can be justified by visitations with psychics, healers, tarot readers, etc. If people are desperate enough - where there doesn't seem to be *any* escape from life's vicissitudes - they will *believe* whatever the psychic says, including the notion that $15000 for a spell that is guaranteed to work will be their "cureall", and subsequently fear it.

A lot of schools of thought on this one. My personal one is that Jesus' birth was predicted in the stars too. It was in the stars alignment at the exact time and place. In modern day, this would be called astrology. Using the stars to forecast events. This is what was used since ancient times. So in effect, the entire bible leading up to His birth, is based on astrology.
The use of tarot and psychics, as well as numerology, are grouped with astrology, but knowing if they are the same or not, is difficult, because psychics, were also known as soothsayers then too. The bible says to beware of false prophets and soothsayers.
Is there something to it? Definitely. Is it good or evil? Hard to say. Some are for good, but some are for evil. But we surely can't caste them all down as being of the devil. However, you do realize, that the devils job, is to make all things good, into evil. So just like everything else, those psychic hotlines are ways of just getting your money, and feeding upon a person's wanting to know if their life can be predicted, like Jesus' was. They will make you constantly call back, and your phone bill is what will end up astronomical.

Since psychics are not 100% reliable (assuming he was speaking to a real psychic) I would say that basing his life on what they told him was not the smartest thing he could be doing. Perhaps he did not trust himself to make his own decisions. It sounds like he probably had a low self esteem, and he desperately needs a friend to help him find reality.

I actually went to a psychic the other day, a lot of the stuff she said was true however I'm not going to believe everything she says and live my life by what she says but it was fun. That poor guy that you work with his going to drive himself insane calling hot lines everyday, one of these days they are going to tell him something he doesn't want to hear.

At best, such claims are fraudulent and you will only be wasting your money; at worst, you could find yourself entangled with occult spiritual powers that will deceive and harm you.
This is why the Bible repeatedly warns us against any type of occult practice. The ancient world was filled with all kinds of superstitions and occult practices, but God's people were warned not to let themselves be influenced by them. The Bible says, "Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist, or who consults the dead" (Deuteronomy 18:10-11).
Instead, I urge you to turn to God and seek His will for your future. God loves you; He loves you so much that He sent His only Son into the world to give His life for your salvation. Why not trust your life into His hands? By a simple prayer of faith ask Christ to forgive your past and come into your life today.
Then commit your future into His hands. I can't promise all your problems will suddenly go away—but I do know this: It's far better to face the future with God than without Him. Don't follow the wrong path in life, but follow Christ instead. You'll never regret it.

I used to innocently read the "horrorscopes"; have my sign's design on college dorm posters, books, etc. bc I thought they were harmless ice-breakers. However, later on in life, I realized that doing this was displeasing to God bc I was dabbling in going to the created instead of to The Creator. Also, I learned that these things were from the occult. Thanks to the Lord for "pulling my coat".
It's amazing how many people get so angry when they ask me my sign and I say, "No thanks, I don't follow that anymore." No matter how polite my answer, the angrier (& sometimes threatening) the asker gets. They even resort to asking/insisting knowing my birthday afterwards, too. I know it ain't to give me a card...
Happy Sabbath.
(I hear the "horror" in horoscopes...)

I've had tarot readings done, but not all the time and I wouldn't go on them totally. Anybody who depends on psychics or anything like that obviously can't think for themselves.

I evaluate it rather is like tests. in case you think of you're gonna fail, you won't concern, yet once you incredibly would desire to bypass, you will have the skill to artwork tough, although you don't get one hundred%. in this way of skill, i think the forgiveness of sins is a psychologically maximum mandatory a component of Christianity. If we evaluate we are risky, we fortify our risky behaviour. We would desire to be waiting to be forgiven (and forgive ourselves) to enable us to to alter and to declare "ok, i used to be risky interior the previous, yet I rather is usually a greater clever individual". rather, i think of faith makes it feasible for us to regulate our behaviour, although we could continually no longer have the braveness to do it without notice. additionally, our society has a extensive have an effect on on our behaviour. in case you have been presented up in a society the placement each and every person obeyed the entire ingredient interior the bible (in spite of the undeniable fact that admittedly a number of those concerns interior the bible are incredibly very immoral and disgraceful), then you definitely might greater beneficial very honestly adjust to it. As a suited ingredient, the bible repeats repeatedly, that surpassing the entire ingredient, the fundamental ingredient is love.
