My friend and I have an ongoing argument. She thinks that it is a cruelty shelter that doesn't walk or give water to the dogs. She also believes that dogs are euthanized their, or put to sleep. Does anyone know if they do or not?

The answer is no. Human society of missouri is a place which will not put pets or other animals to sleep.
The goal of the Humane Society is to increase adoptions and reduce the number of animals we are unfortunately forced to euthanize to the point that no healthy, adoptable animal will need be put to sleep.

Well you got alot of good answers but I know that some are put down but to find out more you can check out backyardlabs.com they find homes for dogs all over the u.s.a.from the the shelters in MO

the humane society does not believe in putting animals down if at all possible--there are cases when the animal is so sick that it can't be saved and this is the only reason it will be put down

They ALL PTS. They 'no-kill' shelters just ship the unadoptable dogs to the kill shelter.

put them to sleep? i don't know, but they do kill them when nobody wants to take them home. Don't worry they only suffer extreme pain for a few minutes.
